During this course you will cover infection control procedures, dangers associated with first aid, correct CPR techniques, the use of defibrillator and how it works, how to deal with an unconscious casualty. Also during the course scenarios will be completed to assess your progress through the course.
Successful applicants will receive a certificate valid for 1 year.
You will be covering various topics such as basic first aid, control bleeding, bandaging, slings, snake & funnel web bites, shock, asthma, anaphylaxis, fractures, dislocations, burns, choking, spinal injuries, seizures, diabetes, stroke, cardiac arrest, CPR resuscitation techniques.
This course is designed for people that have never completed a first aid course before and that wish to learn over two days in the classroom at a slower pace. The exercise workbook will be completed in the classroom together with the trainer. Also numerous practical scenarios will be completed over both days to reinforce what you have learnt.
Will receive a certificate valid for 3 years. Except for the CPR component which is valid for 1 year.
The HLTAID004 course incorporates the Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) course, but contains additional information specific to the childcare industry which makes it a course approved by ACECQA for people working in childcare.
You must complete the Online Workbook for Provide and Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID004).
Will receive a certificate valid for 3 years. Except for the CPR component which is valid for 1 year.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare for and provide medication assistance, and complete medication documentation. It also involves supporting a client to self-administer medication. This unit applies to community services and health workers with authority in their state or territory to assist with the administration of medication. The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work with basic information about the human body and to recognise and promote ways to maintain healthy functioning of the body.
Will receive a certificate valid for 2 years.
